I think you should especially be excited for the arc starting at episode 47, which is a really good one.
DRAGON BALL Z KAI THE FINAL CHAPTERS EPISODE 8 SERIES
Once you get past those first two arcs/sagas though, trust me, things will pick up nicely after a few episodes. Dragon Ball Kai (called Dragon Ball Z Kai by FUNimation) is a condensed release of Z that attempts to follow the manga more closely the series was reduced from 291 episodes to 167, or 159 for the Japanese version which pared 8 more episodes from the international version of the Boo arc, hence the double episode numbers. If you watch the movies though, you might want to watch episode 16 to 18 to give a better idea what happens between the movies. Each of the last chapter parts contain 23 episodes per set and about 5 more than a season set. To be honest though, I feel that 'The Last Chapters' was a very lazy release compared to original 8 parts. It features remastered visuals, a redone soundtrack and the removal of 'filler' episodes that were part of the original anime. It took a couple years but eventually happened. Dragon Ball Z Kai is a re-edited cut of the Dragon Ball Z anime that originally aired for 98 episodes between 20 in Japan. 27 itself), but the movies are overall better. Finally completed Dragon Ball Kai Collection.
The series' variant does have a few improved scenes IMO (last half of ep. and can instead focus on rebuilding and protecting his own world.Īs for Dragon Ball Super, it's great once you get past the first 27 episodes (dub only goes up to 25 so far, sub's at 99), which are basically just extended retellings of the DBZ Battle of Gods and DBZ Resurrection F movies, and the episodes are generally looked at as somewhat poor. Well Future Trunks did complete his objective at the end of the Cell arc after helping the main cast in the present, so he doesn't really have any reason to come back. After moving to a new battleground, the last two Saiyans begin their epic. I'd probably recommended to watch it if you plan on watching Super though. Goku tells Gohan and Krillin to leave so he can fight Vegeta without distraction. The final arc in DBZ is still pretty good IMO (although perhaps not as good as the rest), however you have to get quite a bit into the arc before things start getting really serious, and the main part of the arc doesn't fully start until like episode 15 of Final Chapters (do watch the episodes before it though).
